Most people we meet each day know of no one who is praying for them, or for that matter - anyone who would be interested in praying for them. In Christian circles, we are perhaps too accustomed to other Christians saying: "I will be praying for you." On the receiving end, we could possibly take their prayers for granted. Or we could assure them of our prayers and then be somewhat unfaithful in consistently praying for their needs.
But for those outside of Christian circles - praying is church-talk. For someone in distress or crisis-mode to learn that a Christian is willing to pray for them - that's light in their darkness. Their contact with you in a time of crisis, may be the means of seeing them eventually won to Christ. But even if they show absolutely no interest in the Gospel, it is still our Christian duty to do good, show kindness and to pray for them.
